Welcome to Vinha d’Avó!
More than just a place to stay, Vinha d’Avó is a family project filled with history, love, and care. Our house was built by my grandfather Agostinho in 1937 and has recently been lovingly renovated, preserving its original character while combining the charm of the past with modern comfort.
Located in the heart of Madeira’s south coast, in a peaceful setting surrounded by lush green landscapes, it's the perfect place for those looking to relax, work remotely, or explore the island at their own pace.
The accommodation is a private, cosy, and fully equipped space, thoughtfully designed to make our guests feel truly at home. It features a comfortable sleeping area, a living room with a sofa, a fully equipped kitchen, a private bathroom, reliable Wi-Fi, and a television. Guests also have access to a laundry area with a washing machine and other useful amenities, making it particularly suitable for longer stays.
Outside, you can enjoy a welcoming family atmosphere, with a garden, grapevines, and a little taste of traditional Madeiran life. Whenever possible, we love sharing fresh produce from our garden and eggs from our own hens. 🥬🥚
Our family lives in the same building, in a separate and independent area, so we're always nearby if you need anything, while fully respecting your privacy.
Our location makes it easy to discover Madeira's famous levada walks, mountains, beaches, breathtaking viewpoints, and delicious local cuisine.
At Vinha d’Avó, our wish is for every guest to feel welcome, comfortable, and part of a truly authentic Madeiran experience.

I'm Dany! 😊 I work in the Sports, and I'm passionate about nature, Madeira Island's breathtaking landscapes, and our wonderful sunsets. 🌅 I've always enjoyed meeting new people, discovering different cultures, and sharing the very best of our beautiful island. It was this love of sharing that inspired me to start this family project. More than simply offering a place to stay, I want to give our guests an authentic experience, where they feel welcome, discover a little of our local traditions, and truly feel at home. I believe one of the most beautiful things about being a host is the opportunity to meet happy people, create wonderful memories, and share experiences. How Flatio works
Once you send a booking request, the host is notified that you are interested in their listing. From that moment, they have 24 hours to approve or reject your booking.
Hosts are mainly interested in the profile of their guest. Do not forget to fill in all necessary information, add your profile picture, or even make a short video about yourself. Doing that will make you more attractive for the owner and your booking will more likely get approved.
You can take a look at the contract in advance and online with every listing. After you sign it, you will find it in the application My Housing.
While arranging a contract on Flatio, you do not have to worry that it could be disadvantageous for you. Our contracts are made so that we avoid all problems! All of them are the same, used by all the hosts on Flatio.
Your time is precious. That's why we've added a virtual tour option to our platform so you can see some of the rentals listed on Flatio from the comfort of your own home.
If a virtual tour isn't available for the accommodation you've chosen, you can contact the host and ask them if they're willing to give you a personal tour of the rental unit.
In the event that you move in and the rented accommodation doesn't match the information on Flatio, let us know as soon as possible!
If the conditions for the withdrawal are met and the host can't fix the issue immediately, you have the option to withdraw from the lease agreement with a full refund. We'll also actively help you find an alternative accommodation and remain by your side until everything is fully resolved.

How you can cancel a booking varies depending on what stage the booking is in.
Is your booking request still waiting for host approval? Then you can simply cancel it directly from your My Housing web app!
However, suppose the owner has already approved your booking request, and you are no longer interested in it. In that case, you can still cancel the booking before you sign the lease agreement. Just consider that you should do this only in essential cases. Because when the host accepts your booking, the property is stopped being advertised, and they can lose the chance to rent their property to someone else.
Do you have an approved booking and also a valid agreement? In order to cancel your booking, contact Flatio customer support well in advance of your contract beginning (the specific time and amount of refund depends on the type of cancelation policy).

If you cancel your booking 30 days or more before the move-in date, you’ll get a refund of the entire first rent.
If you cancel your booking up to 14 days before the move-in date, you’ll get a refund of half of the first rent.
If you cancel your booking less than 13 days before the move-in date, you won’t get a refund of the first rent.
The service fee is always refundable.
If you send a message to Flatio's Support Team requesting cancelation of the booking ("termination from the start date") within 48 hours after the lease agreement becomes valid, you're entitled to get back all the money you paid for the service fee.
After 48 hours, you're entitled to a refund of the service fee in the form of a "voucher" equal to the amount of the service fee you paid. The voucher can be used for your next booking and is valid for 12 months. If the service fee for your next booking is lower than the voucher amount, we'll issue you a new voucher for the remaining amount, valid for 12 months.
