Hola!
My name is Teya, and I look forward to welcoming you to Costa Rica.
After falling in love with Costa Rica on my very first visit, I built a home in the Manuel Antonio area and began hosting travelers who wanted to experience the natural beauty and vibrant spirit of this remarkable region.
I'm a former teacher; an artist, a host, and lifelong animal lover, and I have always been passionate about creating unique and inspiring spaces where people and wildlife can coexist in harmony.
Casa Avesolita ('Little Sunbird') is one of my favorite spaces - surrounded by beauty, a comfortable home base for mature travelers who appreciate nature and community, and the perfect place to experience Costa Rica beyond the typical tourist visit. Avesolita was designed with long-stay guests in mind, it is a place where digital nomads, remote workers, and other experienced travelers can settle in, connect with like-minded people, and enjoy a more immersive Costa Rican experience.
My husband is also and animal lover; he's a veterinarian who specializes in exotic animals and wildlife, and together with our team we are passionate about conservation and creating environments where people and wildlife can peacefully coexist. As a result, our guests often enjoy daily visits from a wide variety of exotic birds and parrots, monkeys, and other wildlife that feel comfortable sharing this special space with us.
My consierge and hosting team and I are always happy to answer questions about the area, transportation, beaches, wildlife, restaurants, and local activities and events. Whether you are looking for quiet place to work remotely, a chance to meet and commune with like-minded travelors or simply a chance to reconnect with nature, I hope Casa Avesolita feels like a home away from home during your time in Costa Rica.
