Flat for rent - Santa Cruz

Situated a 15-minute drive from Funchal, it is close to the airport and the city of Machico.

Simply decorated, it meets those looking for a pleasant and friendly space to rest on their holidays. With a bedroom with a double bed, and a two single beds next to the living room and a full bathroom, this house has a maximum capacity of four people.
You can enjoy the stunning sea view from the communal terrace of the building.
From here you can visit Santa Cruz city center and enjoy a swim in the beach, which is very close to the building.
It has all the necessary amenities and features air conditioning. There is also parking space in the building.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD OVERVIEW
Situated on the east side of the island, this apartment is close to the airport, a water park and the city center of Santa Cruz.
The airport is 2 minutes away by car, and about 5 minutes by car you will find the municipality of Machico, known for its bay with the artificial beach of yellow sand; the fantastic views of Ponta de São Lourenço, Penha D'Águia or the Miradouro da Portela.
Funchal is a 15-minute drive away. Here you can find a wide variety of museums, gardens, activities, commercial spaces and belvederes, where you can enjoy the best views of the city.
From here you have quick access to the highway that connects the west side to the east side, which will facilitate your tours around the island.
In the center of the city of Santa Cruz you will find restaurants and grocery stores. In the parish of Caniço you can find supermarkets and a shopping center.

GETTING AROUND
We recommend the private transfer service as the best option to get to the house. Contact us in advance to schedule a private transfer car with our local partners. It is cheaper than taking a taxi by your own in the airport!

The flat looks better in reality than in pictures. The apartment is situated on 2nd floor, the view from windows and from it's own (small) balcony is towards internal courtyard. The balcony in the picture is on 4th floor, it is a spacious balcony on top of the building with access for all tenants. You have chairs, table and shade-umbrella in the apartment, that you can take it up there. From there, you have great ocean and airplane-spotting view. Underground parking place and free outside parking available. Big screen TV which can be used as monitor, with clear picture and great choice of channels. Two fixed and one mobile power extension sockets. Plenty of closet space.
Fruit and vegetables, and some basic stuff (beer, vine, drinks, dry stuff which does not need cooling) shop just under the building. Two small supermarkets at about 300m distance. Bus stops with timetable (SAM) for connections to Funchal and to the east of the island just 300m away, on the other side of the tunnel. There are closer bust stops towards the airport, but not all busses stops there. Lived there solo for two weeks in April-May, remote working, it was more than I needed. Suitable for 4 persons, even 5 if a smaller kid can sleep on the sofa or with parents on the king-sized bedroom bed.
Neighborhood
Beautiful neighborhood, almost (maybe 50m) above see level. This is important, as you do not need to go uphill much.
Not so many shops though, quite small scale compared to Machico (the next city on the other side of the airport).
Really close to airport, you can walk to/from terminals in about 20-25 min. 2min with bus.
