The landlord has accepted my reservation request. How can I sign the lease agreement?

Once the landlord has accepted your reservation request, you'll be asked to complete the lease signing process - you have 24 hours to do so. 

If you complete this process, the booked accommodation will be successfully rented to you for the requested period. 

The lease signing process on Flatio consists of three parts, which you can easily complete in the lease agreement section in the My Housing web app

These are the steps you should follow: 

Read and sign the lease agreement 

By accepting the reservation request, a proposal for the conclusion of a lease agreement will be sumbited. The lease agreement is concluded between the tenant and the landlord of the accommodation for a certain period of time, namely for the period that was specified when creating the reservation request.

We strongly recommend that you read the lease agreement carefully and familiarize yourself with all the rights and obligations of both parties, as this document is very important, especially in case of unexpected events. 

The lease agreement must then be signed - we use a digital signature with an authorization code so that you can sign the agreement from anywhere in the world. 

When you press the "Send SMS" button in the corresponding step, you'll receive the authorization code to the specified phone number, which you enter in the related field in the My Housing web app

By sending the given authorization code, the lease agreement will be signed.

Attach a copy of your ID card or passport

The next step of the lease signing process is to enter a copy of an ID card or passport into our system. We request these documents for the landlords so they can verify that the information you entered into the lease agreement is true and there's a match. 

This information is essential: the number of the ID card or passport, the first and last name, the date of birth and the place of permanent residence.

The rest of the data can be blacked out if you want.

Pay the first rent (including the service fee)

The last part of the lease signing process is the payment of the first rent and the service fee.

With the payment of the first rent, there's a double guarantee - you guarantee the landlord that you'll use the accommodation during the requested time period and the landlord guarantees that the accommodation will be rented to you and not to someone else at that time. This guarantee is increased if the accommodation is booked long in advance (up to several months).

The service fee is then charged for offering you better and better services, such as high quality, verified, and fully furnished rental units, friendly customer support, the user-friendly nature of our entire platform, and much more.

You can easily make the payment of the first rent in the "Payments" section by clicking on the "Pay now" button at item 1. rent + service fee

The application will then show you all possible payment methods along with the necessary payment details.

The paid first rent will then be blocked on our company's account until the day of the physical accommodation handover and will be forwarded to the landlord upon the smooth handover confirmation by both parties. 

By taking this step, we can guarantee you and your landlord that the negotiated lease agreement will most likely come to fruition. Of course, we know that anything can happen - that's why there's a lease agreement with various rights and obligations for both parties.

Failure to complete the lease signing process

If the lease signing process isn't completed within 24 hours of accepting the reservation request (or not at all), the landlord has the right to cancel the entire reservation according to the lease agreement (see Article 6 - Other Provisions, Paragraph 5). It's up to them to decide whether or not to wait for the process to be completed.

So, if you already know that you can't complete the lease signing process within the 24-hour period but you still want this booking, contact the landlord through the "Messages" section of the My Housing web app and explain your situation. We believe that you'll find a solution together.
